The input and output components, as well as planetary and gear transmissions, are responsible for torque amplification. At the very beginning, the torque force is determined, which, thanks to the mechanisms mentioned above, is increased at the output. It is important to note that this device has significant capabilities, so the multiplication of the initial force can reach up to 300%. As a result, thanks to a lightweight and relatively compact device, it is possible to work effectively and with high precision in harsh conditions, as well as—importantly—in tight and hard-to-reach spaces.

Types of torque amplifiers

Torque multipliers are available on the market in two types: manual torque multipliers and pneumatic torque multipliers. The first is a model that increases torque using a manual torque wrench. The design of such a device includes a gear mechanism that increases the torque by a specific amount with each rotation. The pneumatic torque multiplier operates on a very similar principle to the manual model. The difference is that the output torque is generated by a pneumatic motor operating at a set air pressure. Working with a pneumatic torque multiplier is easier and faster.
